Every word lands on its own layer, timed to the voice. Pick a look, change it any time. See captions -
Animate text your way.
By letter, word or line, in and out. Works on any text layer and keeps its font and colour. See text -

3D emoji, company logos, flags and colour icons. Search, click, and it lands in your comp as a layer you can recolour and animate. See icons and emoji -
Proximity, built in. Hard to find anywhere else.
Layers react as a null passes them: they move, scale, tilt, fade or blur. Build a 3D carousel from your own layers, all driven by one null. See proximity -

Want a feature?
Have feedback? I'd love to hear it.
I'm a video editor and motion designer, and I built Hextion for my own edits.
If something is missing or gets in your way, tell me. I read every message myself.
Can I try everything before I buy?
Yes. The free trial runs for 7 days from the first time Hextion opens on your computer, with every page, template and sound included. No card or account is needed. When it ends, Hextion asks for a key and nothing is charged.
Which versions of After Effects does it work with?
Hextion installs in After Effects 2022 (22.0) or newer, on Mac (Apple silicon and Intel) and 64-bit Windows. Version 1.0 has been tested in After Effects 2026, so the free trial is the easiest way to check yours. Templates use their exact fonts in After Effects 2024 or newer.
How many computers can I use it on?
One key works on one computer. To move it, open Settings > Licence on the old computer and press Remove key here, then activate on the new one. A key bought on this site is freed at once.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Hextion checks your key with the shop about every 10 days and keeps working for up to 20 days between checks. The icon library needs one download, then it works offline too.
Can I use it in client work?
Yes. What you make with Hextion can go into your own and your clients' paid projects, without credit. Sharing or reselling Hextion itself, its templates or your key isn't allowed.
Where is my licence key?
In the receipt email from the shop you bought from. If you bought on this site, it's also shown on the page you land on after paying. Can't find it? Check your spam folder, then write to support@gethextion.com from the email you paid with.
Do auto captions cost extra?
Not from me. Transcription runs on your own pay-as-you-go account with the supported speech-to-text service, and that service bills you for the minutes you use. Importing an SRT or VTT file is free, works in any language and needs no key. Auto captions also need the free ffmpeg.
Does Hextion slow After Effects down?
No. The panel only works when you click it. What lands in your comp is ordinary layers, keyframes and sliders, and the In this comp switch on the Effects page turns heavy effects off for smooth playback.
What if it doesn't work on my computer?
Write to support@gethextion.com with your After Effects version, Mac or Windows, and a screenshot. And if it still won't run and I can't fix it, you get a full refund within 14 days of purchase. Read the refund policy.
